Are Your Passwords Secure?

Using one Pasword across all Platforms?

I have observed a lot of people using the same password across his or her social media accounts and their very important acounts like Gmail and Paypal accounts. This has been necesitated by the recet security requirents to have a password that should be at least 12 characters long and use a combination of letters, numbers, special characters… you know the drill.

“Passwords are like underwear: don’t let people see it, change it very often, and you shouldn’t share it with strangers.” – Chris Pirillo

Customers using the same password when signing up to online banking services, ecommerce sites and other internet-based services requiring sensitive data are unwittingly contributing to rising fraud of accounts.

By using the same password across all online accounts, users give hackers easy access to their whole digital life. It's like leaving the keys under the doormat. If a hacker gains access to one user account, he or she can easily take over all online accounts and impersonate them.

Passwords are increasingly easy to compromise. They can often be stolen, guessed, or hacked — you might not even know someone is accessing your account. Here is a solution in case you are using the same pasword across all platforms and what security experts are recommending. You need to employ two factor authentication by using third party authentication apps such as Duo
